There’s no way to put it nicely. As far as years go, 2020 was a bust. Even when rides and rallies didn’t get cancelled because of COVID, they weren’t the same as they’d been in previous years. Masks, social distancing, and other restrictions made it almost impossible to enjoy our time together as a community. But even though this year was worse than anyone could have imagined, it’s finally coming to an end. So instead of lamenting about the past, let’s start looking to the future, because 2021 is coming in hot. Rallies all across the country have finalized dates, events, performances, and races in an effort to bring our community back together stronger than ever. With everything that’s in store, 2021 is gearing up to be as memorable as 2020 was forgettable.

Daytona Bike Week

When: March 5-14

Everything you’ve come to love and expect from one of the biggest biker events in the country, but they’re going even more all out this year to make up for all of the restrictions of 2020. Expect drag races, supercross, trade shows, contests, vendors, beer gardens, live music, and thousands upon thousands of other bikers ready to have a good time and put 2020 behind them.

Myrtle Beach Bike Week

When: May 10-19

The perfect out-of-state bike week for native Floridians to participate in, the Myrtle Beach Bike Week takes place in neighboring South Carolina along the state’s Grand Strand coastline. Enjoy the views, meet other bikers, and participate in all the usual rally events and races. It’s a great time if you’re looking for something to do in May.

Laconia Motorcycle Week & ROT Biker Rally

When: June 8-16 (for Laconia) and June 13-16 (for ROT)

Laconia may not be as big a rally as Sturgis or Daytona, but it does hold the title for being the oldest bike rally in the country. That’s right, Laconia Motorcycle Week is the rally that started them all. So this year, why not head up to New England and celebrate the history of America’s motorcycle community. After a week of riding and drinking, you might even find yourself participating in (and possibly, winning!) the rally’s Biggest Beer Belly contest.

Happening at the same time as Laconia Motorcycle Week, The ROT (Republic of Texas) Biker Rally is the largest motorcycle rally that takes place in America’s heartland. While it’s a huge rally in its own right, the ROT’s biggest draw is that there are no kids are allowed. You can enjoy yourself without having to worry about whether or not any youngsters might be listening or watching.

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

When: August 6-15

Just the ride out to Sturgis is the trip of a lifetime! Then, once you get there, you’ve got 10 full days of the country’s most famous and popular motorcycle rally. For any real rider, it’s a bucket-list event that just can’t be missed. There’s drag racing, hill climbs, bike shows, contests, and so much more. But at its core, it’s a time for bikers all across the country to come together and celebrate our love of riding.

Love Ride to California

When: November 2021

If you still have some riding in you by the end of the year, you can plan an epic cross-country trip to the famous Love Ride to California Rally set to take place in November. It’s a massive motorcycle rally and music festival that’s known for celebrity spotting. Grand Marshal, Jay Leno, is typically in attendance, along with other celebrity riders such as Dennis Hopper, Peter Fonda, Larry Hagman, and Nancy Sinatra. It’s a good ol’ time along the California coastline.
The line-up for 2021 is looking incredible, and whether you go to every single one, or just head to Daytona Bike Week in March, it’s sure to be a much better time than last year. We here at FL Bikers look forward to seeing you all there, and hearing about your plans to attend other rallies throughout the year. As always, ride safe and enjoy yourselves!
