With Biketoberfest starting this week, we at FLBikers wanted to take a moment and reflect on what makes Destination Daytona such an integral part of the growth and success of this fall biker event.
No conversation about the phenomenal growth of Biketoberfest can ignore the incredible contribution of the Rossmeyer family and our dearly departed friend Bruce Rossmeyer. In 1994 Bruce was looking for something fun to do in his retirement, so he bought his first Harley-Davidson dealership in Daytona Beach. In 2005 Bruce opened the crown jewels of his empire: the world’s largest Harley-Davidson dealership and Destination Daytona. Bruce’s passion was motorcycles, but the family was his first love. As wide-ranging as his business empire grew to be, it always remained at heart a family business. And today, Sandy Rossmeyer (his wife) and the rest of the Rossmeyer family continue to show the same passion for the biker community.
The Rossmeyer family continues their humanitarian and philanthropic efforts to help children. Bruce was a founder and served on the Board of Directors of Camp Boggy Creek, a summer camp for children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. He established the “Ride for Children” motorcycle event, which with the families continuing support, has just celebrated its 25th year. In addition to raising millions of dollars for Camp Boggy Creek, Destination Daytona continues to support the Boys & Girls Club of Volusia/Flagler Counties.
Today Daytona Harley-Davidson and Destination Daytona pride itself in providing the ultimate buying experience to the Harley-Davidson enthusiast. Whether it’s a new Bike purchase, an oil change, or choosing one of the thousands of styles of Dealership t-shirts available, including the best Biketoberfest T-shirts on the planet. And it all comes with the “Bruce Rossmeyer Difference.”
Join FLBikers as we head to Destination Daytona to enjoy Biketoberfest 2019! See you there bikers!
